Summer of Cards and Pineapple Aloha!

Here are a few of my creations that I made this summer...

I'm going to start with my newest first... today's chef d'oeuvre- my pineapples that I made from the Stampin' Up! Pine Cone and Pine needles thinlit dies (Pretty Pines). I love it!

Pine Cone Pineapples- Aloha!
SU! DSP: Botanical Blooms, SU! Thinlit set: Pretty Pines, Little B die: "celebrate", SU! embossing folder: Sparkle

Raccoon Party!

These little dudes come from Art Impressions. The Window is SU!. And the box I made using the SU! Hardwood stamp.

Naptime
I just love how you can modify this set to make it work... I was inspired by images I found online to cut the chin of the dog and the basket to nestle her in there so nicely. And I love how the cat and pillows pop so well. The branches came from SU! Jar of Love and the rest is from SU! Sitting Here

I'd like to be under the sea....
Combined the wonderful die cuts from SU! Thinlits: Swirling Scribbles and the darling images from SU! You're Sublime

 Primary Colors Congrats
Such a simple and vibrant card. SU! Thinlits: Sunshine Wishes, SU! Embossing Folder: Sparkle. Inside it says "So happy for you" and has stamped flower from "Sunshine Sayings"

Kitties for Brenda...
These little cats are so fun... and perfect for my cat-lover friend, Brenda! They come from the SU! Pretty Kitty set.

Llama, Llama, Llama
\
I love the underbite of a llama... and I love this stamp set and thinlit dies! (SU! Birthday Fiesta)

And this is a song I always think of when I think of llamas.... I encourage you to go check it out!
Llama Llama Duck

Goldfish and Flowers Hello
From the SU! Jars of Love set...I love the matching framelits!!! Makes it so easy to create 3D cards!

Lightening Bugs Hello
Also from the SU! Jars of Love set. I grew up with Lightning Bugs in the back yard every summer. Sad they don't live out here on the California coast.

Rainy Day Friends
The umbrella, raindrops, and hearts are from SU! Weather together (and matching thinlit Die set). The sun rays behind the cloud is from SU! Kinda Eclectic. The words are from retired SU! set called See You Later.

Tuscan Wishes
I love this new SU! set- the corkscrew is so cool. No, there aren't any thinlits for this... so lots of fussy cutting... but worth it. The musical notes paper is retired SU! DSP Natural Composition. "Thinking of You" is from SU! Wetlands.

Bella dog and friend
SU! Bella & Friends has such cute images. The flower and the trim are from the SU! Flourish Thinlits set.

Love Birds
SU! Best Birds (with thinlits!)

A Basic Hello
SU! Botanical Blooms and thinlits- nice basic card

Fairy Door and Fairy House
I saw some Fairy Doors while in Ireland at a gift shop and was inspired to make one with the new SU! Fairy Celebration stamp set. The lovely green trim and vines are from the SU! Flourishes thinlits die set.

Inside the fairy door...
"All it takes is love, trust, and a little bit of fairy dust"

Also, I'd like to send a shout out to Cecile Ortiz, a French blogger and Stampin Up! demonstrator who has been inspiring me a lot these last few months... go check out her stuff! (and if you can't read French- use Google Translate)... Look at her amazing palm tree and beach Santa... Her palm tree is made from the SU! Pretty Pines dies... just great... That's my next project!

GO CHECK HER BLOG OUT!

Mahalo for looking and Aloha everyone!

Sunbursts and Miracles

I love it when the sun peeks from behind the clouds and makes it look like a miracle. So when I started playing with this sunburst framelit... I saw all sorts of potential. Here are few cards and projects from the past few days...

STARTING THE DAY ANEW WITH A CUP OF COFFEE AND YOU!
This is my Monthly Swap Club card- theme: "New Beginnings"-
because a cup of coffee and a miracle cloud sounds like a great new beginning!
Stamps and dies from the SU! 2016 Occasions catty… All the words (inside it says "Happy Birthday to You" are from Sunburst Sayings. And the hearts are from A Nice Cuppa. For the cutting, I used the Sunburst and Cups & Kettle Dies as well as my circle punches.
I used two Splitcoaststamper challenges: Color Challenge SC568: Saffron Gray Sky (So Saffron yellow, Smokey Slate gray, Soft Sky blue) and Sketch Challenge SC579.

SUNSHINY PEEP HELLO!
Stamps and dies from the 2016 Occasions catty…
SU! Stamps: Sunburst Sayings and Honeycomb Happiness. Inside the card it says "You're so Sweet" from Honeycomb Happiness.

SHARING COCOA WITH MY VALENTINE...
Stamps and dies from the 2016 Occasions catty…
SU! Stamps: Perpetual Birthday Calendar (hearts), Sunburst Sayings (dots and squiggle lines). and the Cups & Kettle framelits for the cups, heart, and spoon.
I made the straws by stamping the squiggle lines from Sunburst Sayings on paper and then rolling them.

Thanks for looking!

Playing with ink and paper- Tea's on!

I love crafting. I love it all... how it takes 3 hours to make that one card... figuring out how to do some certain effect... finding the perfect sheet of pretty designer paper to go with the card... yup- true love.
So here is the effect of having one day to play... :)

WILLOW WARE INSPIRED - TEA TIME
My mother-in-law collected tea pots and used blue Willow Ware exclusively for all daily use.
I loved it. So when I was working on this card, I kept thinking blue and white...
Stampin' Up! stamp sets: A Nice Cuppa (and matching Cups and Kettle Framelits dies) and some homemade designer paper using the scattered flowers from Perpetual Birthday Calendar.

TEACUP HERB GARDEN
Stampin' Up! stamp sets: A Nice Cuppa (and matching Cups and Kettle Framelits dies) and Flowering Fields (2016 Sale-A-Bration)
The designer paper is Twitterpated (retired) designer paper.

This next card is another sunburst card... and
here's how I glued all the "throw away" pieces down without having to piece it all together...
I cut the paper with the die cut, flipped it over and put liquid glue on the "throw away" pieces.

Then I put the cardstock over the upside down and gluey pieces and pressed for a while with my fingers and a bone folder to get the pieces to stick to the cardstock.

In the end I get two cards- the positive and the negative design.

Here is the final card I made with that piece...
Stampin' Up! stamp sets: Kinda Eclectic (the sun rays and "a little kindness goes a long way", Ray of Sunshine (the sun's face), and Sunburst Sayings ("you brighten my day" and the squiggles and line of dots) with matching Sunburst Framelit Die.
SUNSHINE KINDNESS

And the non-SU! card for the day was using those Tim Holtz Crazy Birds finally...
THANKS FOR ALL MY FRIENDS

Getting Creative Again!

I never really stop being creative.... but I'd rather stamp and cut paper then upload photos and post... so two months later... here are a few of my fave cards I created over that time. And as always, my recipes for my cards are on Splitcoaststampers in my gallery: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=91627

Hot Tubbing Owls- feeling warm and fuzzy- this was my Dec 2015 Swap Club submission theme “Warm Fuzzies”… I used the Owl punch, the Bird punch and SU! Stamps: Delight in Life, Enjoy Every Moment, Hardwood, Get Well Soup, All Boxed Up, Cottage Greetings.

Two Sunshine and Tea cards...
Life is Good- The Kettle's On- from 2016 Occasions catty… loving the new Sunburst and Cups and Kettle diecuts! SU! Stamps: Project Life- Remember This for “Life is Good”, Tin of Cards “a happy hello” and the squiggle line inside the card, Sunburst Sayings “you BRIGHTEN my day”.

Life is Good- Two for Tea- SU! Stamps: Project Life- Remember This for “Life is Good”, Tin of Cards “a happy hello” and the squiggle line inside the card. The cups are Cherry Cobbler on Tangelo Tangerine. They were inspired by the lovely cups by Michelle Zindorf.

Hello Honeycomb cute bird cards
This darling little bird from Honeycomb Happiness grabbed my heart for several cards:

Peep- Oh Hello and DSP- SU! Stamp: Honeycomb Happiness (bird and “oh hello”). The paper is all from (retired) International Bazaar DSP (designer specialty paper).

Peep- Just Because, You’re so Sweet. SU! Stamp: Honeycomb Hello, Tin of Cards "Just Because", Bordering Blooms (the vine stamp). Handpicked framelit for the signs. (Thanks Hermelinda for the inspiration to use these little signs like this!) The DSP is (retired) Sweet Sorbet.

Here are all the variations… just changing out the sign’s messages…

Watsonville Airshow Love…  I live in an area where there are tons of fields of crops that grow well in coastal California weather… artichokes, strawberries, etc. We also have an annual airshow with cool old planes here. So when I saw the artichoke plants and the old bi-plane, I just had to create this one. SU! Stamps: Flowering Fields, Sky is the Limit, and A Dozen Thoughts. The DSP is (retired) Twitterpated.

Disney Rewards Gift Card Holder
And here is a gift card holder I made for my grown up son’s birthday (a true Disney Fan)….
