Inspired to stamp

Thanks to my stampin buddy Sheryl, today was a great stamping day....
Here are a few of my creations...

I love Autumn- version 1
I used a sketch challenge from SplitCoast (SC567) for this card and the one below. I like the geometric shape of the cut off . The DSP is SU! 2015 Into the Woods, the Embossing Folder is by Darice and the saying (an all time fave of mine) is from SU! World of Dreams.

I love Autumn- version 2
This way I colored the leaf reminds me of some fabrics from my mom's house.

Hidden Fox
I used the SCS Color Combo Sketch for this one: CC557: Wild Cherry Sky.... And the little fox (from SU! The Wilderness Awaits) is under branches made from the big tree from SU! Lovely as a Tree. The little die cut words are from Elizabeth Craft.

HAPPY THOUGHTS AND HAPPY EVERYTHING!!

I've been making cards in all the free moments I have. Hoping to keep my growling down to a more manageable yip or small bark. :0  Also, I am starting up a monthly 5+2 swap by mail through SplitCoastStampers... and it's been fun receiving requests from folks wanting to join. So I thought I'd start off the club with my first theme that I will do "Welcoming Smiles". See the thank you cards below that I've send and will send. :)

"WELCOMING SMILES" VERSION 1
Thank you card for new members to my Swap Club
card recipe is here (it's SC564)

"WELCOMING SMILES" VERSION 2
Thank you card for new members to my Swap Club
recipe for this card is here (it's SC565)

IN SPITE OF THE ODDS
I LOVE this little chickadee-  and I love that Heather of Judith Stamps inspired me to draw my own barbed wire. The die cut "happy" and "everything" stamp is from Taylored Expressions.
This card so makes me smile! Here's the recipe on SCS
And here's the YouTube Video Channel of Heather teaching how to design and color the fence

SENDING SOME LOVE
Here's the other Judith Stamps card I made... If you notice the layout for the cards is similar... a left bottom corner object with rays coming off it. That was for the SCS sketch challenge SC563

FROG IN A BOX- WHOOPEE!
The card... (above)  (recipe here)
And the envelope:... (below)
Again a day in the Judith Stamps booth at the Sacramento Scrapbook Expo... and I came home ready to play. I did the jumping frog card and then realized a see-through box for the frogs looking out on the envelope would be fun. These are just such wonderful stamps!!

House Mouse Love

Been playing with my little House Mouse stamps again. Love love love those little pictures!

These are being shipped off for a House Mouse swap I am participating in on SplitCoastStampers. So.... shhh, they are not due until Nov 2. :)

Smitten Kitten (and Mice)
When I crocheted this one, I so thought of how my mom used to knit whenever she sat on the couch.  I tried using real mini clothespins, but it got too bulky. So instead, I glossed the clothespins (hard to see in picture). Then I used the SU! Lattice Embossing Folder (retired now) to add more knit texture.
Recipe:
Colors: Tombow pens: 942, N89, 553, 800; SU! pens: Night of Navy, Creamy Caramel, Cherry Cobbler
House Mouse Stamps: “Cozy Mittens” and “I’m Smitten”
Paper: gray, brown, white
Accessories: 3D Galaxy Gloss, Lily Sugar ‘n Cream cotton yarn
Tools: SU! Lattice Embossing Folder, crochet hook, dauber, scissors, etc

 Blowing Bubblegum Bubbles
I had fun layering all the punched colorful circles and making the bubblegum machine.
I used alcohol markers (Spectrum Noir, Copics, Touch, Letraset)
to allow the images to shine through the colors so well.
Recipe:
Colors: Alcohol based pens: Copics: RV10, BV02; Touch Pens: 23, 47, BG1, BG5, WG4, WG 0.5; Letraset Pantone 537-T; Spectrum Noir BP4; Promarker Blender. Water Based: Tombow 912
House Mouse Stamps: “Chew, Blow, Pop” and “Mice Wishes”
Paper: Creative Memories Brights, white
Tools:  ¾ “ and 1” punches, CM circle cutter

Feeling Good--- soon I hope...

Fun cards this past week-
I wanted to use my new SU! Get Well Soup stamp and had this vision of making steam come off the bowl. To do this I used the new SU! Elegant Dots Embossing Folder in two different ways:
1) To get the "steam" dots on the pink paper- I inked Wisteria Wonder onto the raised dots side of the embossing folder and then twisted it when I stamped the dots onto the pink.
2) To get the white dots- I inked Wisteria Wonder onto the top side of the embossing folder and then ran white paper through it.

Get Well Soup

Inside the card, I put white paper and stamped Wisteria
hearts from SU! Perpetual Calendar.

Then for the bowl- I used a square make-up sponge and
made angles with the sponging (see below)

My favorite is this one- with the little hearts added.

Slow Loving Penguin
This little snow lover is a left over from a prior project-

March of the Penguins and Snow People
These guys (gals?) were for making Kiss Tents...
that we will be making in one of my stamping groups.
And yes, I have extra Hershey's Kisses on hand. :)
The idea came from Brenda Q- QBee on SplitCoastStampers

Here are mine: Caroling Snowy Kiss Tents

Through the Woods (IO card challenge)

Second card... for the challenge
http://mitrafriant.typepad.com/impression_obsession_news/2015/09/new-challenge-happy-haunting.html

Through the Woods
I used the IO Cover-a-Card "Branches" (CC031 C-A-C)
and my favorite little die cut town: IO "Haunted Hill" (Die 029P)
I had fun figuring out how to put the village behind the branches... and came up with die cutting the village in white and in gray. Then I used the relief or top white piece and the town or bottom gray piece. Then I sponged a moon with a circle die cut on a post-it note... and then stamped the black trees over it all. The trick was to add a branch in front of the bell tower- I stamped the branches again on gray paper and cut out the main two branches and glued them on (they are the ones on the left reaching to the moon and going over the bell tower.

Been a while... Batty Thoughts (IO Happy Haunting Challenge)

Can't say I am a talkative blogger for sure...been since last December?! I most post my new cards on my SplitCoastStampers Gallery... So... if you want to take a peek- go here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=91627

Anywayyy.... Impression Obsession (IO) has me at it again... and it's a challenge again: Happy Haunting! Rule was only IO products. And it had to be new (no back-dating) and a few other rules. Go check out the challenge here:
http://mitrafriant.typepad.com/impression_obsession_news/2015/09/new-challenge-happy-haunting.html What I discovered is that I still don't have enough IO goodies... (time to go shopping?) .... in spite of this, I think I did pretty well. Check out my two creations...

Batty Thoughts
I used the IO Cover-a-Card "Clouds" (CC091 C-A-C)
again my favorite little die cut town: IO "Haunted Hill" (Die 029P)
and IO Top Edger "Greetings" (Die 234-M)
For this one I stamped the clouds in gray. And then sponged a moon yellow and some rust (masking the cloud first) and some of the surrounding sky with a navy blue. (The photo makes it all look too blue). Then I made a gray shadow of the town by gluing a black die cut of the town over a gray die cut. And sadly, I found I had no Halloween greetings by IO in my stash... so I decided Thinking of you and some bats could work.  I like it... :)

Gonna post my second card in a second post...
happy haunting to all!
:) Makani
